This edition of On your radar contains an overview of international employment law developments shaping the HR landscape. Equality and inclusion are recurring themes with France and the Czech Republic discussing equal pay and the Pay Transparency Directive. South Africa highlights the new sectoral targets where certain employers will require to produce a five-year Employment Equity plan. In India additional disclosure requirements have been introduced requiring companies to disclose in their board’s report details of the number of complaints of workplace sexual harassment.

A notable trend in this edition is the focus on pension reform, although covering different aspects of pension provision; Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Ukraine, and Angola all refer to pension developments. The process and the protections available to employees while absent on sick leave is another theme. France was issued with a formal notice to comply with EU law relating to sickness and paid leave, Spain discusses changes to the law involving workers with permanent disabilities and Chile reports on changes to the regulation of medical leave certificates.

With practical implications for compliance, policy review, and workforce planning, this edition is essential reading to stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing global employment environment.
