Missouri: Proposition A Requires Notices Be Provided to Employees
By John Marino - McMahon Berger P.C.
April 14, 2025
Missouri Prop A requires employers to provide employees with a notice of their rights by today, April 15, 2025. The Missouri Supreme Court has not issued its decision on the pending litigation concerning Prop A. In addition, a bill that seeks to repeal the sick leave provisions of Prop A passed the Missouri House and a Missouri Senate committee, but there has not been a vote yet in the Senate. As soon as McMahon Berger learns of any developments concerning Prop A, we will be sure to let you know.
In the meantime, the following link will take you to the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations for copies of the Notice and Poster that should be distributed to employees today: https://labor.mo.gov/dls/proposition-a-paid-sick-time-benefits-faqs. Along with the Notice, employers can include a statement that the paid sick time allotments are currently subject to judicial and legislative challenges and may change and/or be repealed.
