CDC Updates Guidance On Critical Infrastructure Workers Returning To Work

Employers should be aware that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is continually updating its guidance documents as the pandemic continues. As such, we recommend that employers check the CDC website regularly to obtain the most up-to-date information about the plethora of issues you may need to address as you navigate this crisis. Unfortunately, because of the quickly evolving nature of the pandemic and its effects on our country, we cannot assume that the information we received yesterday is the same information we can rely upon today.

For example, it appears the CDC has relaxed the rules for returning critical infrastructure workers to work following potential exposure to COVID-19. Rather than mandating a 14-day quarantine, critical infrastructure workers who remain asymptomatic may be able to return to work earlier if careful procedures are followed. This guidance is limited to workers in 16 sectors of work.
