Maryland’s General Assembly session just ended, with the passage of significant new employment legislation, including the Essential Workers Protection Act, bereavement leave rights, workplace peace orders, and revisions to the state’s mass layoff notification law, among other things. The Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Shawe Rosenthal LLP will be holding a complimentary webinar on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. The Chamber’s Senior Policy Analyst Andrew Griffin will talk about the most challenging session in history, and Shawe Rosenthal attorneys Fiona W. Ong and Paul D. Burgin will explain the obligations of and provide guidance on compliance with Maryland’s new employment laws.
